Jason Lane
Jason E. Lane is director of education studies at the Nelson A. Rockefeller Institute of Government, the public policy think tank of the State University of New York. He is also associate professor of educational policy, co-director of the Cross-Border Education Research Team (C-BERT), and senior researcher at the Institute for Global Education Policy Studies at SUNY-Albany. His research focuses on the organization and leadership of higher education institutions as well as their relationship with governments.
Most recently he has been studying the development of cross-border higher education, with a specific interest in the emergence of the multinational university and the role of internationalization in public diplomacy and economic and community development. His books include Multinational Colleges and Universities (w/Kevin Kinser) and Colleges and Universities as Economic Drivers (w/ Bruce Johnstone).
He serves on the boards of the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES), Council for International Higher Education (CIHE), and the Gulf Comparative Education Society (GCES).
